FINISHED THE NOVEL AND SEVERAL REVISIONS- Now Ready to Go to the SCBWI Carolina Conference, Yahooo

It has been many long, long months, My 28,000 word Novel is done, revised so many many times- and forever revising still as grow as an author....
Butterfly Land is ready to send out. Perfect timing since the SCBWI Carolinas Conference starts in two days.
Time to meet with fellow writers and artist and get that jolt of energy that comes from a great conference.I can't wait. Packing for Charlotte, N.C. now-

I'm so deep into this revision animal. The first draft was finished and in my native mind, I thought maybe that was the tough part. But no, now comes the true craft of writing. And to my surprise, I'm really, really enjoying this. I do need to find some time to sketch... maybe later

Yes, I just registered and  I'm getting ready to go. The SCBWI Carolinas Conference will be September 27th in Charlotte, N.C. I'm finishing up my middle grade novel and getting ready. I hope to catch all my Carolina Buds there.

Ahh, I'm up to 14,000 words. Such a leap for someone who tried to keep under 800 in my picture books-

ON CHAPTER 10, with 12 to go

 Write, Rewrite, Put it away and start all over again-
In between, I'm revising on my picture book,  finishing the dummy,   

Animal Sound Mix-Up Gets Another Great Review

Wow, Just received another great review by Robyn Campbell for Animal Sound Mix-Up. A delightful story by Connie Arnold, about how each animal sounds they way they do. I enjoyed illustrating the many different animals. Great when something so fun to do works out so well. Way to go Connie!

REVISION CONTINUES

Reworking my story. Took a break to finish an illustration. It helps me connect and really understand my character more. Plus, I just love to draw! So relaxing...

Working on revision. This is where the action is. But so hard to cut out stuff you thought was important.
So, show don't tell and make the reader really care.  Now make him/her care more!   
Gosh, this is tough.
